Functions Bestowed To ARC:

Anti-Ragging Committee, established according to the regulations of the AICTE, constituted by the Governing Body of the college is the moral police of our College. The Commitee’s responsibility is to

  • Ensure that students maintain discipline in the classrooms and within the college campus.
  • Members of the committee regularly go on rounds to each and every classroom to make note of errant behavior and 
  • To make sure that the college campus is free from ragging and eve teasing.
  • The cell will take severe punitive action against students indulging in such heinous activities.
  • Convenors shall examine all complaints of anti-ragging and come out with recommendation based on the nature of the incident.

Duties of a Ragged Grievant:

If an act of ragging occurs under the jurisdiction of the college, the grievant should ensure the following things:

  • A written complaint has to be submitted to the Anti-Ragging Committee (ARC) describing the ragging instance completely with date, time and place of happening
  • The complaint should contain the identity of the complainant and the identity of the alleged
  • The complainant should submit the complaint in person to any of the Anti-Ragging Committee (ARC) members or any teacher he/she feels free to of the college.
  • The confidentiality of the complainant and any other applicable issues shall be maintained Anti Ragging Committee (ARC).

Punishment in cases of Ragging:

The Anti-Ragging Committee of the College shall take appropriate decision, including imposition of punishment, depending on the facts and circumstances of each incident of ragging and nature and gravity of the incident of ragging. A student found guilty by the committee will attract one or more of the following punishments, as imposed by the Anti-Ragging Committee:

  • Suspension from attending classes and academic privileges.
  • Withholding / withdrawing scholarship / fellowship and other benefits. 
  • Debarring from appearing in any test / examination or other evaluation process.
  • With holding results.
  • Debarring from undertaking any collaborative work or attending national or international conferences / symposia / meeting to present his/her research work.
  • Cancellation of admission.
  • Expulsion from the institution and consequent debarring from admission to any other institution for a specified period.
  • In cases where the persons committing or abetting the act of ragging are not identified, the College shall resort to collective punishment.
  • If need be, in view of the intensity of the act of ragging committed, a First Information Report (FIR) shall be filed by the College with the local police authorities.
